A clear product vision
We don’t just transcribe specifications. Each platform reflects architectural and usage choices that we uphold and defend because they serve long-term goals.
Effect Software designs and develops business applications intended to structure data, simplify usage, and support organizations over the long term.
Our belief: business software must be robust, useful, user-friendly, and truly adapted to real-world usage—advancing practices, not just adapting to them.
An obvious promise. Yet rarely kept over time.
From field expertise to a product platform. Each step has shaped a unique culture: that of a publisher enriched by a deep understanding of real-world usage.
Effect Software was born from strong expertise in engineering, application architecture, and custom business application development.
Over the years, the company has supported organizations in designing technical solutions, structuring their information systems, and developing specific applications.
This experience shaped a unique culture: that of a publisher enriched by a deep understanding of usage, field constraints, and support challenges.
With the development of NextCity, Effect Software took a new step: supporting companies and local authorities in transforming their businesses and advancing their maturity within a single platform capable of unifying usage and simplifying processes.
Effect Software continues this trajectory with a clear ambition: to develop sustainable, scalable platforms capable of addressing increasingly varied and demanding business contexts.
Information systems have often been built through accumulation: specialized tools, internal applications, shared files, complex platforms, and ad-hoc solutions.
This accumulation creates disruptions in usage, redundant data entry, information loss, and increasing difficulty in maintaining a coherent view of activities.
On the other hand, some tools focus on apparent simplicity. They seem fluid at first glance but cover only a limited functional scope: they lock organizations into usage patterns that cannot evolve, closing the door to any real progress.
Effect Software advocates a different approach, based on three fundamental pillars:
A good business platform does not merely react to expressed needs—it proposes solutions. Our publisher culture drives us to provide solutions, ergonomics, and ways of working that users might not have imagined on their own.
We don’t just transcribe specifications. Each platform reflects architectural and usage choices that we uphold and defend because they serve long-term goals.
Our publisher culture pushes us to invent interactions, workflows, and interfaces not found elsewhere. Not design for design’s sake, but design that clarifies what other tools leave confusing.
We offer our clients ways of working they hadn’t considered: cross-functional views, targeted automation, structural simplifications. Useful innovation often comes from what wasn’t asked for.
Beyond product discourse, these three principles structure every decision we make in architecture, ergonomics, and roadmap.
A single platform for diverse profiles, centered around shared data.
Our solutions are designed to allow multiple profiles to work in a common environment: field teams, operational managers, technical experts, local authorities, companies, engineering firms, partners, or external users.
Each user accesses the information, features, and interfaces relevant to their role while contributing to a shared vision of the activity.
Unifying means enabling different profiles to collaborate around the same data, scope, and objective.
Functional richness should never hinder adoption.
Effect Software pays particular attention to ergonomics, interface clarity, and the simplicity of user journeys.
Our goal is to simplify the daily work of very different profiles, from field technicians to business experts, from agency managers to decision-makers.
Simplifying means designing powerful yet understandable, effective, and user-friendly tools.
Innovation only has value if it delivers tangible benefits.
We approach innovation pragmatically: improving interfaces, automating tasks, better leveraging data, integrating new usage patterns, and supporting technological advancements.
Our ambition is to advance our clients’ businesses by providing them with modern, reliable, and value-adding tools.
Innovating means putting technology at the service of usage, never the other way around.

Founder and CEO of Effect Software, Christophe Ingelaere embodies a vision of software nurtured by an early passion for IT, development, ergonomics, and business application design.
His career began in IT services and custom projects, where he took on early responsibilities for critical systems, national applications, and large-scale deployments.
This period allowed him to approach software from a field perspective: understanding real needs, analyzing processes, designing reliable solutions, maintaining quality over time, and supporting numerous users in demanding environments.
Throughout his career, he developed a rare understanding of the entire software chain: from technical design to product vision, from execution quality to usage analysis, from application architecture to organizational support.
He later reinforced this experience at a software publisher, where he led the development of a strategic application used by major players in its market. This step solidified his vision of software publishing: a product must be robust, maintainable, architecturally coherent, and capable of evolving without losing quality.
Alongside his professional career, he also taught software engineering best practices, architecture, modeling, and development in higher education IT programs for many years.
This journey has been built through projects, encounters, convictions, but also trials, errors, adjustments, and questioning. It is in this confrontation with reality that a more accurate vision of software is forged: what works, what resists, what must be simplified, improved, or rethought.
This experience feeds a way of advancing based on rigor and sincerity: listening to usages, understanding constraints, but also questioning habits when necessary. Evolving software means accompanying users, opening new paths, and creating the conditions for shared progress.
This rigor also applies to teams: aiming for a high level of quality, respecting people, recognizing their commitment, and collectively seeking to do better.
The objective remains the same: to build software that lasts over time, serves users, and values both our clients' professions and the work committed by our teams.
This culture—technical, methodological, functional, and product-oriented—now drives Effect Software’s vision: designing robust, user-friendly, and scalable business platforms capable of supporting organizations over the long term.
With NextCity, this vision takes the form of a platform that structures data, unifies usage, and enhances the work of users.
Effect Software does not design its software remotely from real-world usage. Our platforms evolve with feedback from the field, operational constraints, and needs expressed by users.
Understand the practices, constraints, and expectations of users to design relevant features aligned with field realities.
Evolve platforms without stacking features, preserving the readability and overall quality of the product over time.
Embed each project in a continuous relationship based on listening, trust, and the gradual improvement of delivered solutions.
Create tools that provide clarity to the work done, facilitate decision-making, and enhance the perceived quality of users' activities.
NextCity embodies Effect Software’s product vision: a scalable platform for structuring data, coordinating usage, and supporting businesses over the long term.
